Beyond his professional HR leadership, Sharam has demonstrated a deep commitment to community service and social impact. He has served on the board of directors of several nonprofits serving individuals and families with homelessness challenges and mental health challenges, bringing his organizational expertise to support vulnerable populations.

Sharam also served as Human Relations Commissioner for the Cities of Berkeley, Emeryville, and parts of Oakland, where he worked on issues of discrimination, community relations, and civil rights. This public service role further demonstrates his commitment to equity, fairness, and building inclusive communities.
